hacky Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Which of the above are the Subaru 4 pots? I think they are the "96-98" ones, assuming the "98-07 4 pot" are the brembos?. Just making sure before I order them. Cheers
ur.a.bus Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 the 98 - 07 will be the 4 pots i think the sti 1's are the brembo its been a while since i done mine in my 99 uk classic but i remember seeing the 4 holes along the top
frank c Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 (edited) If i remember correctly, they do indeed have 4 holes along the top.. 986H seems familiar.. DS 2500 Ferodo pads ? Edited April 23, 2009 by Frank C

Yes mate, they are the Ferodo pads. It's thrown me off because my car is a 1997 but has the Subaru 4 pots so wasn't sure, which ones were right and didnt want to take the pads off to check! So its actually the 98-07 4 Pot 986H that are the Subaru 4 Pots? Cheers!
crunchie Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 yeah id agree, had subaru 4-pots on my classic and now sti brembos and its defo the 98 - 07 ones you need.

Cheers! Not sure tbh mate.. The last time i bought these pads (986H) it was for a MY99 car.. Phone this guy (Alyn) for advice .. and you never know, he might be cheaper.. http://www.asperformance.com/
gc8-r Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 986-h are the one's mate...................... same as mine and i got the 4-pots
arch Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 As said before 986-h. I just changed mine on the road car last night for some Endless racing ones I got from As performance and must say after the few bedding stops I am impressed they seem to have more bite than the Ds2500's I had on the track car last year and they are cheaper and last longer than the Ds2500's - result
hacky Posted April 24, 2009 Author Posted April 24, 2009 Cheers guys, Ordering up a set of ds2500's today from godspeed. Should make some difference, brakes have felt like crap since I bought the car.
thefastone Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Looks pretty clear to me from that image that you posted... the 2 at the top are 2 pots, because they never did 4 pots till 98/99. how about the one that says "4 pots" on it... I thought that was a dead give away... as was the Label "STI" on the other one, because Brembos were only fitted to STIs... Either way, as long as you can identify that you have the 4-pot callipers, it wont matter the age, thats the pads you want...

Well I have only had a very limited experience of Impreza's until now, so I am still learning stuff about my model, so its unlikely that I know what brakes other models have! Similarly, the type r despite being a 1996/7 has the brakes that are normally fitted on 1998-2007. I knew there are subaru 4 pots and brembo 4 pots so thats where the doubt about which one was which came from. Anyway, didnt go with godspeed, managed to get them for 125 quid which was a damn site cheaper than any of the other suppliers I contacted. Apex Performance Parts in Bradford for anyone interested. Cheers again, G Edited April 29, 2009 by hacky
