camcq Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 orite peeps im having a couple of probs and hope that someone can help other day there i was reversing a short distance up a steep road, when it felt like something underneath moved. And i heard a bang, but only when i first started. Then later on that night when i went out i got a slip from the clutch on a few occasions. But the next day it seemed ok (no slip). Then again a few days later it slipped away again, but now seems ok tho i dont seem to have the same power as before, at take off but theres no slip. then tonight when i went to reverse im getting a knocking sound but think it might be my exhaust, as it just got replaced today. Any help/advice would be great cheers , craig
colin_ross Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 If the knocking sound is coming from under the car then your new exhaust would be the first place to start. Grab a hold of it (when it's cold) and shake that mofo as hard as you can, you'll soon figure out it that's the problem or not. Slipping clutches can come and go depending on how you're driving, how hot it is etc but they never get better over the long term. It'll need changed at some point but you should be able to live with it until you can save up some cash. Don't go thrashing it though as it could either give up all togeher or fubar your flywheel which would mean extra expense.
