1996 Sti 2 555 Edition

Recommended Posts

Hi, a bit rough round edges but seems a good price, what do you guys think?

thanks

To be fair, and no offence to The Squiggle, you would probably get a tidier, less heavily modified one for about the same these day as prices have gone through the floor... I've seen some REALLY nice v4/5 import STi's on PistonHeads for about the same. I know they're not 555 Editions but tbh, that's not anymore either with the body mods. This for example: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/880740.htm

Just my 2p's worth, far from gospel.

(You moved to Witney yet by the way?)

Cheers, will take a look. Do you think it's best to get a more standard car over a heavily modified one?

some nice type r's here

http://www.svaimports.com/cars.php?make=Subaru

seem a bit pricey but might lower price etc........

cheers

Not necessarily, a lightly modified or even a completely standard model will give you the opportunity to add your own mods and you'll also know exactly what has been done and by whom... a heavily modified car in its nature, will be more prone to issues. However, a well built, thoughtfully modified car (such as Emoe's [the red one above] would be as reliable as a lightly modified car from someone who didn't know what they where doing. There's no firm and fast rules tbh... just ask LOTS of questions!

I would be tempted to go for a car that's already been registered over here myself as I've heard horror stories about customs paperwork holding cars up for months at a time! There's loads of imprezas out there these days as the car market is at a low point and there are some real gems to be had so take your time and keep your eyes peeled!

Good luck with the search and keep us posted.
