col666 Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 What's the oil consumption like with everybody else's 2.5 scoob? Mine seems to be using a bit more than I think is normal!
Ian Coulter Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Hi, I have found that too. I generally have to add at least 1 litre between services. Ian
RS Grant Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Yup, mine blows through a wee bit as well... nothing mental, but certainly enough to warrant regular checks. Cheers, Grant
col666 Posted March 21, 2009 Author Posted March 21, 2009 Mine has used about 1 Litre in 1000 miles of pretty leisurely driving. I think thats slightly excessive?!
4Hero Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Sounds a bit dodgy, I never top mine up between services.
thewelsho Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Yeah, they do use a bit more but not as much as you are suggesting though, might wanna get that checked out.
jac Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Sounds a bit dodgy, I never top mine up between services. That's because you don't drive it like it should be driven
jac Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Yeah, they do use a bit more but not as much as you are suggesting though, might wanna get that checked out. Jonh your say doesn't count because you have different pistons.

thewelsho Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Jonh your say doesn't count because you have different pistons. Oh aye! Doh!
Casper Spec D Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 I have only ever had to top it up slightly in between services maybe 100ml but I change the oil every 3500miles thats may be why I don't notice it as alot. I have heard thou that 2.5L does use a little more oil than the 2.0L
mystery machine Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Between two services (10K) mine never needed a drop.
sparky_sj04 Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Mine uses very little, i've not had to top it up at all yet.
braveheart Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Yes i need to top up now and again, but then again i do drive it about a bit tasty now and again...i thinks this is the norm again depending what enternals your running... Chris
RS Grant Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 I notice it more on start-up on mine.. with the full de-cat, there is a puff on startup from stone cold. I never notice anything (and neither does anyone following me) when driving on or off boost. Cheers, Grant
