Hi folks,

Was up at Hypertech recently and asking Duncan if it was worth upgrading my discs rather than just

better pads and OEM discs on my WRX.

Duncan recommended the DBA 4000 series (which I hadn't heard of) with Ferodo pads.

Just wondered if anyone has them/has used them.

Thanks

I used to have them on my old Spec C, fantastic brakes and fitted by Iain Litchfield, i currently run Performance friction discs, carbon pads and braided hoses, better than the DBA but not much in it.

Yeah, heard a lot of good stuf about the Performance friction stuff. The DBA seemed good as they weren't too

dear either.

Richie I've fitted DBA 4000 series discs and had a selection of different pads on all my previous scoobs & thier excellent mate can highly recommend them, Dunc would advise on the best pads to match the discs depending on what kind of driving your doing.

Theres a group buy for the K-sport front brake upgrade, calipers, discs & pads & D2 big brake upgrade as well on scoobynet, probabaly about £300 more than just upgrading the discs & pads but would be worth spending the extra cash in the long run.

Are you just running the standard WRX set up with OEM discs and pads just now ? I have upgraded pads and recently up'd power to 280bhp and I just feel sometimes it isn't quite enough stopping power (kinda felt pre-map that I wasn't completely happy with pads upgrade).

Next step is up to 340ish like yourself so brakes is something I'd also be looking at changing....to what is the same question I have ?! If you could post what you go for and how you feel the difference is that'd be great.

I got my pads from ASPerformance, speaking with him (Alyn isn't it??) I got decent advise, although imagine he'd mainly refer to what he sells.

Yeah, still running the OEM discs but with uprated pads all round. Haven't had a problem but don't leave my braking to the last second.

We'll see how it goes on the club run next month! :o

Still got a bit of life left in the pads but once they're on the way out, I'll look at getting the discs and I'll let you know.

I've had them on my classic for 3ish years now with no problems, not sure the pads i'm using, think it's a mintex fast road/track one.

Bought the discs from Wallace in Aberdeen.

Oh yeah :D Er...what I meant was I'd test them on the way to the meet.....no-one else involved as we'll be enjoying the scenery :o
