Nf - Nitrous Formula

Hello everyone,

Can anyone tell me if they are using NF on a daily basis, and what ratio?

My question is not about NF, I know it's good stuff. But if I get the car mapped on (eg.) 3ml per litre, then do I need to continue using the same ratio from then on for every tank to keep things as they should be? and if it gets a few tanks without any NF is it going to start causing problems? Common sense would tell me I would have to keep the same ratio as it was mapped on, but if somebody could confirm?

Also anyone that has experience of it, could you tell me roughly how many RON is added by approx 3ml/litre?

Cheers,

Mark :icon_salut:

You are correct that what you map your car on is what you should then continue to use.

In terms of the benefits - depends on what sort of mods you have etc. as to whether it was worth it. Do you fill up with V-Power usually?

Oh aye, V-power or Tesco 99... nothing else.

Mods are/are going to be turbo-back sports cat system, cold air intake and panel filter etc, then obviously AF mapping.. (on a Hawkeye STI) What's your thoughts on getting the car mapped on NF and then running with it from then on? (as regards seeing some kind of benefit from it)..

if you have the car mapped using NF then youll need to continue to use it or have the car remapped back to standard fueling.

I had my car mapped before the alochol injection, then added the injection and it made a fair bit of improvement. However i had paul at ZEN remap the car a while back and he done it so the car uses the alcohol and water mix all the time. The response and power is WAY different, but i have to make sure i keep the tank topped up as running it without will make the car go lean.

I would say the gains from having it mapped WITH are much more than what you get from mapping without and using it anyway. The downside is the added need to stay topped up.

Choice is yours mate.

The cold air intake is a waste of money at the performance level you're looking for. The standard induction system with a good panel filter is more than adequate.

I wouldn't have thought the NF would offer a great deal of benefit of that state of tune, but best speak to the mapper probably.

It's just going to be ducting to get more cold air up to the standard air box, with a Cosworth panel filter, and removal of the resonator box.. I'll give it a go..

I would have thought that if the car is a daily driver you should have it mapped on V-Power or tesco 99 only. Then if you take it on track add 3ml/lt for a little extra protection <_< Cant see any logical reason for mapping a car used on the road daily with NF, unless you have to much money and just need to spend some of it.

If that is the case then I am more than happy to help you spend it

Aye no bother, the cheque's in the post!! :D

See your point right enough.... keeping it topped up with NF might be a pain in the hole. Could always get it mapped again for that in the future if things change.....

As for logic.. there's not much of that involved in the amount of cash the car is swallowing just now :(

Cheers mate, <_<
