Well I knew it was going to happen, and today it did :(

I put in an order with Scoobyparts for a few toys for the RB. Nothing drastic...yet. A nice Sti strut brace, some engine bling and some nice Buddyclub caps for the oil and radiator :crying:

That's the first step on a slippery slope!

This time next year you'll be running 450bhp, on your 3rd gearbox,4th turbo...etc... and all your credit cards will be maxxed out! Dont say I didnt warn you :(

Not quite 450, but I'm aiming to change the exhaust and get it mapped over the summer to mid 300's somewhere. Not too sure how high I want to go yet.

Does it not come fitted with a strut brace as standard?

Nope

You ever use the word "Bling" and "RB" in the same breath again and i will fine you £100 for Horsepower for Heroes!

why keep it standard? So I can look like all the other Rb320's? Where's the fun in that

As said above the outside and interior will be staying standard -and those are the unique bits. The engine is the same as every other impreza out there so I want to make it look a bit better

And as long as it's all reversable I cant see an issue

I put a strut brace on my RB and i've added a few "cosmetics" as well but will keep the look as close to standard as possible. Mind you i like those massive glue on "Halford stylee look at me i'm a ****er cosworth spoilers"............... :o

'All the other RB320s'? Aye - sure enough, I can hardly get out of my street for the basturds... B)

Only kidding, mate - if it makes you happy, that's what counts. And as you say, it's all reversible so won't hurt the resale value (who am I kidding - why would you ever sell it!).

Any pics of da engine bling then...? :boldblue: (shameless request for RB320 under-bunnet porn).

haha you'd be supprised how many there seem to be around me. The day before I went to pick mine up I had one park next to me at the local gokarting track! :boldblue:

I've always been a bit daft about having a clean engine bay, and my first MG had alot of alloy parts in the enigne bay

DSC00434.jpg

It was a swine to clean, but the amount of people that commented on it and took pictures of it made it worth it. Probably not going to go to the same extent this time round but I wanted some nice bits to look at under there. I was going to go down the carbon fibre road but it's waaaay too expensive and there don't seem to be as many parts available

The bits are still on order, but will stick a pic up once they get here

Great pics, Ross B)

You were obviously serious about your MG, and that RB320 is one happening bay!

I've never been much of an engine scrubber (out of sight, out of mind, etc)... sprayed gunk (oo-er) over the cylinder head of my MkII Astra once, but that's about the extent of it :boldblue:

But I'm losing weight after Christmas, so it'll work out about the same in the end :boldblue:

Anyway, if I wanted to go fast I could have spent £5k less and bought a Skyline R34 and had enough change left to get silly power out of it. I'm not that bothered about going fast so it's not an issue. With the amount of police about my way it's just stupid - and the amount of track time I'm likely to get...if any... just makes it even more pointless.

Yeah I loved my ZR, there wasn't much left standard on it. I had a fancy manifold and straight through exhaust on it so it sounded like a bike when you gave it welly. I do miss it some times, but it was far too underpowered... plus you get fed up with the "Rover with a bodykit" comments all the time

With me working offshore and having a Landrover to do the donkey work my play things never do many miles, so it's much easier keeping them clean

In that case, I propose a swap - my WRX for your RB320. I'll even bung you £3K to spend on all the engine bling you can get your hands on B)

No? Didnae think so :boldblue:

haha perhaps I should have added to the end of that last statement that I got the RB320 because I was holding out for a special Impreza that I could keep. I could have had a normal WRX Sti type aaages ago but held off... and trust me it was very very worth it! :boldblue:

ok that came out wrong too... I'm just going to shut up now lol

Och no, just me being a kint ;)

I do like the STi in white... and so does the missus so trying to convince her to get one

I'm considering giving the wife an STI.

Ooops... now my posts are coming out all wrong :D
