Shelly_Scooby Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Hi I have about a 2cm mark on the top of my roof! Looks like glue or some type of resin, I have tried T Cut and Thinners but no joy Any one got any other ideas? Before I have to go the extreme of rubbing it down and getting it painted!
Shelly_Scooby Posted February 4, 2009 Author Posted February 4, 2009 try using a clay bar on it, Thanks for the advice, will give it a go!
scoobymark Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 If clay bar does'nt work, if you are sure it is adhesive, B&Q sell adhesive remover, it is at the glue section, but they keep the actual cans of stuff under the till. Don't know how adhesive remover will effect your paint, but would get washing bucket at the ready, then polish and wax.
W88CHY Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Tar and Glue should shift it. Even WD40 - that removes sticky residue (i.e from badges etc)
emoe Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Try using a hairdryer to warm the glue up. then use a plastic scraper to ease off the majority. Then you can use glue remover, make sure you only hit affected area, after that a very light flatting with 1500 and rubbing compound to remove scratches. Wax and youre done.
