steviegp Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 I have some strange knocking sounds coming from the suspension on my blobeye wrx wagon but no adverse handling,I've already decided to invest in a godspeed brake kit and I'm looking for suspension advice,I suspect the suspension may have been altered before i bought it as it seems quite low! I had Eibach springs on my classic but the didn't really lower it so if anyone has experience of a decent set up that will keep the ride height i've got and be suitable for our roads i'd appreciate any thoughts. Thanks in advance,Stevie
Richie Cross Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 How would you describe the sounds? Front or back? The rear shocks seem to be a common fault but I've had knocks from the front. One was cured by putting rubber hose round the bottom couple of turns of my spring but I've got a metallic clank at the moment. Off to Hypertech for a diagnosis in a couple of weeks. They said it might be something simple like the pin the brake caliper rattling over bumps. Here's hoping!!!
steviegp Posted February 3, 2009 Author Posted February 3, 2009 Mostly the back when navigating speed bumps but also from the front on occasion. Not sure if it's just age! If i can solve the problem and upgrade then it's a bonus! Might give hypertech a call before i'm home next, cheers
tommo9375 Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 I've had similar problems with my 2002 model Buygeye Sti ,changed the front droplinks and it seemed okay .But now getting some light clunkin sounds from the front, so getting it checked out next week .Think it could be the shocks as from what i have gathered they're prone to clunking.
steviegp Posted February 3, 2009 Author Posted February 3, 2009 Think i'll get it checked out when i'm back,Might get some new droplinks and rear ARB fitted while i'm away and see if that makes a difference
scoobysailor Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 My rear passenger side was knocking when driving over bumpy roads.........turned out it was leaking and had to be replaced - by TEIN superstreets which are quite stiff on bumpy roads, good on the corners though
