neill54 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 hi im looking at getting my car upto stage 1 sometime soon got a few of the parts fitted or nearly fitted but what im after is info on the induction kit could someone tell me what the resonator delete bit is about and is there any other induction kits that work better or is the apexi or nothing? i know the best thing is probably give andy a bell but im someone can help me here without making mr forrest even busier! neil
scoobysailor Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 (edited) Delete elbow is one of these and fits into the wing before your air box (I believe) I thought about fitting one but didn't bother in the end - I had snags sourcing one. You'll be alright with just a free flow filter for a stage one I think.... (that's all I have) I've just noticed you have a classic.........that maybe will make a difference Edited February 2, 2009 by scoobysailor
neill54 Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 cheers for that what type of filter you got and i take it yours aint a classic? neil

neill54 Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 ive read on a few places that just changing the panel filter to a high flow one should do the job and save my cash for elsewhere? neil
bobbyc Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Hi Neil I did the same just changed the panel filter & got the resonator delete elbow second hand from a breakers & the cars got pleanty of torque
martin_allen Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 No need for an induction kit neil sti panel filter would be my choice know of cars running near 350 with a panel filter a save your dosh for other mods Gordy That was what Andy told me. Standard STI filter/airbox good for 350hp so no need to change unless you want to. He advised upgrading the intercooler hoses instead. The standard newage ones are quite narrow and restrictive (not sure about classics) 5t.
neill54 Posted February 3, 2009 Author Posted February 3, 2009 ideal guys getting there in the end ill be doing this along with a wee service may have a go at doing the plugs but was really hoping to wait till slightly better/warmer weather! not good not having a garage! neil
RS Grant Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Really dont need to change the standard airbox until well in excess of 400bhp IMO... only reason I can see why you would is if you fitted a front mount intercooler and needed the space for pipework. I run a Green Panel Filter in my car, think it was around 25-30quid from AWD in Perth. Cheers, Grant
