Drop Link Damage

Recommended Posts

Had the car jacked up today and noticed damage to my offside rear alloy drop link.

could it be it's the ARB hitting on it thats caused this? and more importantly is it dangerous?

Car is MY06 WRX. They(ARB & DP) were fitted less than a year ago at Hypertech

Thanks in advance....

Looks like flex in the bushes (which is normal) is causing the drop link to rub on the ARB. Its not all that bad, have seen some really bad!

If youre worried, get Hypertech to check the bushes in the ARB and drop link arent loose. but id wager that its just flex.

Youre welcome. Just make sure the bolts on the ARB and Link are tight, and theres not too much movement sideways on the link. It will move some, and this is normally caused with heavy cornering.

its certainly not dangerous at present. Obviously if the Bushes are bad, they can fail, that will leave you with no ARB force on the back, making it a bit wibbly.
