martin_allen
Bit of a disaster over the weekend, The Mrs went to get the baby buggy out of the back of the wagon and the blinking handle has bust! Doesn't seem connected to anything now and we can't open the boot. I know that to get the the mechnaism i need to take the panel off inside the car but i am also sure that it held in place by those plastic pop rivets.... which you can't get to without opening the boot! Arrrgh! Anyone know how to open or even if you can open the boot from inside at all before i go on an expensive trip to Grieves? please!!! 5t. Link to comment

pmacFTO
I assume the pop switch at the drivers side is not working too? I seem to have disconnected mine - funnily enough with a buggy too! Not sure how you open the boot from inside tho Martin Link to comment
RA Dunk
remove rear seats and the other thingy (dunno what its called) there only held on with bolts and climb through the hole and manually flick the lever Link to comment
pmacFTO
Martin has a wagon so it should be easy access? What lever is it you pull Ac!D??? Link to comment
martin_allen
That's the issue, i can get into the boot but no idea how to make it release. There is a very small access panel right in the middle but i can't see a thing in there! wondered if there might be a certain wire to pull or something. If i can get the boot open i can take off the trim panel and fix it but right now i'm stuck! Cheers for the thoughts though guys. 5t. Link to comment
irish al
Whats the problem? When you pull the handle beside the drivers seat does the boot not open. Just open the boot with the key. On the locking mechanism on the boot lid there is a small lever you can move up and down. Its this lever that makes the switch beside the drivers door stop working. Just move it either up or down and try again. Al Edited January 13, 2009 by Irish Al Link to comment
ed-209
I had the same problem with the new wagon, outside handle would not work or would the central locking. This is how I got it working again. From the back doors drop the rear seat back, you should see a small plastic cover just above the lock. Pop this cover off, you will see a lever inside, just move it across towards the left (as you look at it) the handle should now work as normal. To stop it happening again, I stripped off the covers and cable tied the lever back. Hope that helps Ed. Link to comment
martin_allen
Ed that's brilliant. That's the wee access panel i was looking in and i think i know the lever you mean. The issue i have now is tha handle is broken so will have to hope for the best! Basically screwed 5t. Link to comment
