pmacFTO Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Just wondered if anyone has a ballpark figure for replacing the clutch on a newage WRX. I have 290bhp so is OE clutch ok or am I better to uprate - I don't drive hard most of the time tbh. Just if someone had had theirs done at Hypertech or similar they may be able to give me a rough idea of price Ta!
scoobzie Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 (edited) hypertech charge £205 quid m8 to fit a clutch that includes the gearbox oil change Edited December 27, 2008 by scoobzie
WUZ Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 hypertech charge £205 quid m8 to fit a clutch that includes the gearbox oil change I usually charge £100 + Gearbox Oil. Cost of Clutch/Flywheel/Flywheel Spigot are all extra. Russell

Standard wont take Crail launches + trackdays though as I found out. Even on standardish power
pmacFTO Posted December 27, 2008 Author Posted December 27, 2008 cheers for that guys Aberdeen is a bit of a trek but thats a good price Wuz! Have to wait till I get in some cash for a few websites and freelance graphic design jobs I did before the Xmas period It all just goes on the car! lol

pmacFTO Posted December 29, 2008 Author Posted December 29, 2008 my mate will probably do it for 100ish will ask him for ya. A garage or just a m8? My only worry is what comeback I have - I don't doubt people can do it themselves but it's just if something goes wrong if you know what I mean? All options considered tho! Hypertech are off till 12th Jan or so I have had an offer from craigmcd too which is promising

All items fitted by me have their relevent warranties honoured (if NEW and supplied by me - so I know its source) and all labour is covered by a 6 months warranty.......................... if people pay me to fit parts to their car, they have a FULL receipt that has 6 months cover from date of issue so they have some sort of comeback on the work done. Aye Duncan said they are open but then he's off for 2 weeks - no time to do mine till he gets back But I am back at work on the 5th as is the wife (and she needs to do school/nursery runs thru the day) so I need mine sorted earlier.

When do you need it done by? I also have another mate who worked at AWD for 3 years he has ramps at the farm You would have less comeback with him although he is the expert to be honest. Twin Plate is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY OTT for 400bhp bob. Exedy Stage 1 Organic will cope with 400bhp (its not bhp that kills clutches, its TORQUE) and cost about £400 Including Lightened and Balanced Flywheel - Contact Alyn @ ASP or David @ API for more info. Twin Plate (Exedy/Cusco/HKS/etc) will handle 550/550 easily but costs about £900 Fitting of either is £100 + extras. I am not back from OZ until April, hopefully your not in a hurry you could always go to Grant and Andy @ AWD? Russell

scouk Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 I just got quoted £300 from a local place, just for the time, no parts/fluids included! They reckon 7.5hrs.. Comes from a place that runs their own Impreza in the SRC.. Makes we wanna try change it myself afterall..
