C_WRX Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 For those that have changed their newage (blobeye in particular) up-pipe from the cat'd standard one, what one did you change it to and has it proved dependable i.e. no leaks or splitting. I hear good idea to replace when decating/sportscating the rest of the exhaust as up-pipe cat cat pieces can break up ??? Also gives just that little bit more power.

kennyuk300 Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 hi mate i replaced mine as it was leaking with one from ebay it was a tubalar manifold with fixed uppipe on the advice from kr tuning who incidently fitted it.had it on for about a year no problems so far (touch wood), was not heat wrapped as i did not know about it at the time and kevin never said hopefully will not cause problems
scoobysailor Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 (edited) I've got a de-catted STi up-pipe just about to be fitted to mine (01 Bugeye WRX). I went for that one on the advice of James Greenwood (@ greenwood racing developments) he said he had tried a few others on his track car and the STi one was about the best (for what I wanted). He removed the heat sheild and wrapped it for me - he said the heat sheild is prone to corrosion/damage. It doesn't get fitted until early January so can't really tell you what it's like fitted. scoobymark Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Not a great website but Harvey knows his stuff when it comes to headers and up-pipes http://www.geocities.com/harveysmith3000/ should be worth a call for advice
