hi looking for some info picked up my new car today version 5 sti,2.5 conversion ,front mount, it has an apexi power fc but im not too clued up on how to use this so can anyone give me some help on how it works, also it has a hks ssq dump valve do i need this or can i fit the standard one?it also has an andy f 20g turbo the figures when it was mapped are 404 bhp,400 torque, really pulls like nothing iv had before but just want to know how to make sure i dont mess it up by using the controller for the apexi any help would be great, cheer

20G and 400 bhp will be producing a fair amount of boost so the dump valve is essential.

Remember the car will have been mapped and set up to run with the current modifications. I would not alter or adjust any of the settings on the apexi unless you are fully aware of what you are doing

Got any pics of the car mate. 2.5 will pull like a train

hi mate it was too dark when i got home i will take some tomorrow,im just wondering if i can alter the boost as the guy i got said it can be done using the controller, may be best for me to take a trip to andy f to make sure its all ok

You can adjust boost from the commander (from what your saying i assume there's no stand alone boost controller like an AVC-R? ) iirc you can set 4 different boost levels on the pfc each one mapped accordingly, it's safe to swap between these as you wish but I would go turning the boost up by altering the boost profiles. As has been mentioned Andy will have mapped the car to the boost level he feels is right for the spec of the car.

If your not keen on the noise from the hks ssq you could fit an uprated re-circulating type dumpvalve which will probably improve the way the car drives and also gives the turbo an easier time when your cruising on a light throtte.

keep pressing back until you get to the menu with display and settings. Settings, boost, choose the level you want by scorlling down until highlighted then back to the display/settings menu and go in to settings with your normal display and thats it.

What happened to the P1 mate?

cheers for the reply guys,it has 4 settings i think on the contoller,1,2,3,4 which is in the boost settings,im also getting it booked into andy f to show me how i go about using it also unlocking some of the settings, stuarted i gave the car back to the guy i got the p1 from as the 5th gear synchro was goosed, and the maf sensor wasnt too healthy so iv now got the sti, does anyone know what the best recirc valve would be for the car ie forge etc,as the hks ssq i dont like, cheers

Seems to be a common problem with 5th, I changed to a PPG set up not long ago and know of a few others that have gone.

I've got a Forge re-circ, V4 from Scoobymania. Andy F was impressed with the way it performed and i've had no problems with it

That car looks familiar... sure an ex-member owned it. Got old style Compomotive MO's on it??

Think his username was SC00BYD00 or something along those lines, he did a track day in March 07 with me in my GT4... was running the Scoob with a smoothed bootlid and no rear spoiler. Remember it going VERY well.

Cheers,

hi the guy i got it from was from dunfermline he got it converted to the 2.5 by kr tuning in motherwell, the history with the car is something else,iv even got the smoothed bootlid if i want to go stealth, but i like the sti spoiler on it just now,iv contacted andy f to find out what the best recirc valve is for my spec, getting used to driving it now as its very different to my other scoobys iv had,the power is something else, and thanks for the help guys on the apexi controller, getting to grips with it now,
