G.Mac Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 This is the 2nd set of Subaru locking wheel nuts that have screwed up on me, last time the key sheared, this time the feckin nut has rounded off NOT IMPRESSED AND WILL NEVER BUY SUBARU CRAPPY lockers again  Graeme
bobbyc Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 I'll second that, the day I picked up my old STI one of the first things I wanted to do was slacken them off a bit but they were feckin solid, took a trip back to Grieves & let the mechanic shear all four locking nuts & wreck the tool I said I couldn't have done that better myself. They had to call in snap on & get an external nut extracter to remove them, nae good if the wife gets a puncture
craigdmcd Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 Biggest problem with them is numpties using impact guns on them and over tightening them. Wound up by hand and tightened with a torque wrench - you can see them doing that at a stealership - NOT
Linky Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 I must admit ive never had any hassels with mine. Coat the landing faces and threads in copperslip or molycote and dont overtighten them and there is not a problem.

paul555sti Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 cheers Paul... and yup, she likes the most expensive ones how do I find out what thread pattern I've got? I think they are M12 x 1.25 but they should be able to confirm it when you order them.
