fudge Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Whilst sipping liquids one crisp evening on Steve & Suzy's (Eureka) well heated patio decking, Granby came up with an idea that may prove interesting. This would need to be addressed off the public roads I guess, somewhere like an airfield or such like. To have five Impreza's in a straight line within the following power ranges. Car 1. 200 - 250 bhp Car 2. 300 - 350 bhp Car 3. 400 - 450 bhp Car 4. 500 - 500 bhp Car 5. 600 - 650 bhp. One straight race over a 300 - 400Mts. We could set cameras up both ends, in cars etc and will make an interesting comparison to watch. What does every one reckon ?? I feel pretty convinced if we can pull this off I could talk with Matt & Olly and get Car Nr 6 to be The Gobstopper
gary may Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 granby would be ok for car one yeah sounds good,i'd be car 5 if you like (PMSL!!!!!!!!!!

I'll happily volunteer my car for one of them places. However I would suggest the following power ranges (no not power rangers) Car 1. 201 - 300 bhp Car 2. 301 - 400 bhp Car 3. 401 - 500 bhp Car 4. 501 - 600 bhp Car 5. 601 - 700 bhp. Car 6. Over 700 bhp Edited November 2, 2008 by deani_age

fudge Posted November 2, 2008 Author Posted November 2, 2008 (edited) Granby, after much debate between 1,367 fellow members of our club, you will be pleased to have learned that you have been nominated the "Rule Maker" Is Launch Control allowed? If all cars have it, no problem, is some cars have it, problem? Is race fuel allowed? PS. Many thanks Granby for offering your most respected time & attention to detail.. spannaz Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 be damn interesting to see how much difference in times that power makes!
Scooby Hoo? Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 (edited) I would be happy to adjudicate. I can't run in any of the classes as I'm under 200bhp Could bring the Kit along But no launch control Edited November 2, 2008 by Scooby Hoo?
deani_age Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Good man Deani1. Deani 2. Fudge 3. 4. 5. 6. Car 1. 201 - 300 bhp Car 2. 301 - 400 bhp Car 3. 401 - 500 bhp Car 4. 501 - 600 bhp Car 5. 601 - 700 bhp. Car 6. Over 700 bhp I somehow don't think we'll be allowed the 200 - 300 bhp and 301 - 400 bhp places, although at 381 BHP, I qualify for the Car 2 spot
pmacFTO Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Surely the mapping would make a difference - i.e a car mapped for lower end power but just under the power of a higher range which is either not mapped or not mapped very well, could make the results skewed? Also it would depend on the torque of the various vehicles. Just a thought but the basic principle would be interesting as a non-scientific experiment
granby Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Car 1. 201 - 300 bhpCar 2. 301 - 400 bhp Car 3. 401 - 500 bhp Car 4. 501 - 600 bhp Car 5. 601 - 700 bhp. Car 6. 20withascooby Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 you could also end up having in class 1 say 220bhp car then class 2 you could have 390 thats a huge gap
fudge Posted November 3, 2008 Author Posted November 3, 2008 (edited) you could also end up having in class 1 say 220bhp car then class 2 you could have 390 thats a huge gap This is why I thought my original bhp brackets were more fair?
