t3hWIT Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 (edited) This is all you'll see of the pin: http://img262.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1003089vp8.jpg Two pictures on removing it: http://img508.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1003090yu2.jpg http://img511.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1003092hn9.jpg I posted a DIY thread on changing the axles. It can be found here: http://www.rs25.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66471 You will have to either disconnect the ball joint or remove the two bolts on the strut in order to pull the axle far enough to remove it from the splines coming out of the differential. After it is disconnected at the transmission, push it aside and remove the splined portion from the hub. If you follow that DIY I posted, you shouldn't have any problems. emoe Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Willie, if you have to get the Nut off, then removing the splines from the gearbox isnt going to help you. You will find that when the nuts are put on they become seriously tight after a while. I have found the only way to remove these is with a 1/2 drive impact, as the shock of the rattle moves the nut. When you use a breaker bar or such like you are putting POSITIVE pressure on the nut, and at a constant force. That wont move it. It needs to have the same kind of FORCE but applied in judders! if that wont remove it, then warm the nut up with a blowtorch and it will come off.

Cheers managed to get it off but as i was trying to pull the driveshaft out the spline at the hub end it broke away from the gearbox must have bust the pin that holds it in
gus the bus Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 ....and after all your efforts Willie it doesnt fit seemingly the ABS mounting on the Terzo and 98MY is different from the MY2000 car. Back to square one! Hub assembly required for a Terzo/MY98 impreza (NS front) Gus
