jd Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 (edited) For anyone interested there is an interclub rolling road day at www.enginetuner.co.uk on the 18th October 2008. Unfortunately, all club spaces have been taken however for anyone interested Olly Clark (Time Attack winner) and Steve Simpson will be in attendance for the day. So pop down and say hi. jd Posted October 19, 2008 Author Posted October 19, 2008 Excellent day out, many thanks to Alan/Martyn & Sean for the day. Martyn decided to put mine on at the end of the day, and was a little suprised by the result seeing as the map has not been touched since the beginning of the year. 432.6bhp - within 3% so nothing to worry about 425lb/ft - an increase of 55lb/ft since mapping ,had a check of the boost levels and was boosting to 1.8bar! Martyn comment was to leave alone for the winter as not using her much anyway, just enjoy for a bit. remember this a still a 2 litre with standard internals
kevlorn Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 not a bad result steve...torque is superb...out of interest, what makes the bhp drop over time?
jd Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 errrr ask Martyn lol there will always be an optimum point for peak horsepower.
MartynJ Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 not a bad result steve...torque is superb...out of interest, what makes the bhp drop over time? Boost tailing away at a rapid rate , as JD mentioned we suspect he may have an issue with his boost control solenoid not functioning correctly.. This lead to him having 1.8bar midrange and only 1.2 bar at the top end , it would normally hold 1.5 bar flat to the red line.. If he would hurry up and win the lottery I could get his 2.1 Stroker in it and show it 2bar+....
jd Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 you want to install a stroker in me???? have to look into the boost issue at some point.
