Guest Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Well had my car on the ramp yesterday to remove my exhaust due to swapping it with somebody else as he wanted a quieter exhaust and i wanted a louder one Well I removed by HKS yesterday and drove to Aberdeen swapped exhausts and also bought a VF23 of the same person. Welll got up today all excited as you do. I had purchased a de-cat down pipe which went on no bother. Then i went to fit my new exhaust and oh shan they look different sizes and it's the wrong type of flange oh dear. Phone AWD to no avail then I think brugger it bet i can make it fit, with a wee bit of persuasion and loads of Ingenuity it fitted!! I will have to get an exhaust that fits properly but it will do for now. I then thought great out for a blast but then whats that puddle, bloody optimax leaking out of the pipe that runs from the filler cap to the tank There is some sort of guard that fits around it that had collected crap and water and caused the pipe to rust. To be honest it drips once every 5 minutes and not at all when the car has sat for a while. It has been patched as a temporary measure but i need to order the correct part. Any idea where the best place to get it is?? Has anybody else had this problem? Anyway i finally got out for a run after it took 8 hours to fit the new down pipe and bodge the exhaust and also patch the fuel leak. The exhaust is superb set off my first car alarm aswell

little vodka goblin Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Had to replace my fuel filler pipe about a month ago- hardest part of the job was getting the 3 bloody screws undone around the filler cap to release the pipe - it took 3 1/2 hours!
