fudge
One of my best friends of 30 yrs Rob, took his TVR Cerbura to Guglielmi Motorsport for a regular service on a recommendation. The car had no problems driving the 120 miles to Gugliemli Motorsport. When he collected it he had driven 5 miles and noticed the engine was wayyyy to hot, and it boiled up. Rob phoned GM and they said to bring it back and they will have a look. They put 2 Ltrs in the rad and basically denied they had done anything wrong. My friend then drove home, stopping constantly to fill the rad. He had just had the engine checked over by a friend (mechanic) and the heads are f****d, with the engine oil the colour of tea. They never mentioned to him that there was anything wrong with the colour of the oil when changing it, which proves the car was ok when they received it !. Rob is now at the point of seeking legal advice and does not know what to do. Service and tappets adjustment £ 1,100.00 What do you reckon fella's ?? Link to comment

timmy2take
I'd probably take photos of the "evidence" with a digital camera and take it to a garage to show them it has happened to get them to possibly verify it if needed for court evidence. Link to comment
dazzlers82
sounds like when they changed the coolant they have either not bleed the system through correctly took it for a spin an its over heated an they brought it back an topped it up thinkin it is ok or they did not bother road testing it an when your friend has started his journey home he has noticed it getting hot due to an air lock but has also done the head gasket due to overheating ??????? if you understand that ???? Hi mate. This is exactly what we thought. We dont believe they bleed the system. The owner of the garage took it out because he commented that the TVR wheel spun in 4th gear. Link to comment

eureka
is this the same co that are third in the pros time attack if so very reputable company sure they will sort this problem out Link to comment
woody-cdas
I had a similar problem when a main dealer fitted the thermostat the wrong way on my bmw and it did the h/g as a result. I took it to another garage to get them to take photos and put in writing what had happened but they didnt want to know and wouldn't slander another main dealers reputation! I wish now i had taken legal advice but i didn't so i ended up paying for it myself as i could not prove that it was their fault even though they had changed the thermostat & waterpump so they blamed it on my old waterpump. Good luck with it and i'm sure that if they are a reputable place they will sort it out. Link to comment
