billyboystoys Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 (edited) driving to stirling was doing 70 mph when something went wrong engine went pop stopped and had a look under bonnet car ticking over but rougth there was oil coming out off what seemed like a breather pipe coming from turbo got back home left car to sit for 3 hours then started it again lots off white smoke so just turned it off any ideas and any info on who to take it to near stirling cheers guys.billy Edited August 24, 2008 by billyboystoys
johnnyr6 Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Got any pics? could be the oil return (under the turbo) or feed (on top). The white smoke could be oil getting in due to burst oil seal. what year of car? Johnny

Greig Hope it turns out good for you mate and is just something silly.
colin_ross Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 There is no breather pipe on the turbo, just oil and water. White smoke normally indicates water so I'd be looking at head gasket etc, the compression test would be a good place to start. Check the coolant and loil evels as well.
ScottyRB320 Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Bloody hell Uncle, Between me, you and John if it was not for bad luck we would have none at all. John told me what had happened could not believe it, you weren't doing the Fallin road 30-fastest at last pole trying to beat my record in the 997 turbo were you??? I know where NOT to take the car but let's get mine back first before i say anything! I would say Duncan at Hypertech is your best bet. Have sent you my mobile number, if you need someone to get it taken over there (My AA covers any car wink wink) then give me a shout and i can bring you back in my lovely S Max diesel hire car..... Keep your chin up Hope it is nothing serious, as a matter of course same as what i did i would recommend a compression and leak down test so that you have a clear indication of what is going on, for peace of mind never mind anything else! Here's hoping it is just something minor! Regards ScottyB
