New Baby Has Arrived

Picked her up on Friday. Extremely happy with her drive and performance. Girlfriend and I picked her up from Warwick on Firday. Only ruined by the fact that I didn't know Warwick, my girlfriend ( bless her ) had my wallet and mobile phone and the Sat Nav all in her car. And she doesnt know the meaning of "I'll follow you as I dont know area and you have the SatNav". :)

She went off, I lost her, didnt know where I was by the time I found the M40 Junction I then realised I hadnt checked fuel gauge... Yep it was on Empty. Not having any idea where I was and not having any cash, wallet or phone on me I was starting to panic. After finding a Layby with a credit/ reverse charge phone on it I had to phone my Dad to phone my Girlfriend who at this point was actually in Oxford, with the traffic back to Warwick solid from Botley to Banbury....

Luckily good old AA came out to me and rang the box I was at and despite saying a car would be with me in 1hr 15 I got a 'very nice man' out to me in 10mins. Refuelled paid for over the phone and back to Oxford.

Moral of this story - If you buy a car check the fuel - if you sell one have the decency to leave a decent amount of fuel in it!!

Sunday we went to Alton Towers. 2hrs there 2hrs 30 back, plenty of fuel used plenty of Enjoyment had. Drove solid and was sweet.

Only problem was (Yeah get used to it only things like this happen to me) came off A34 on way back at Peartree and the Turbo went mad then engine died next to Park and Ride. I pulled over in bus lane and tried turning engine over and over and over. Nothing! gave up rang AA. While waiting I lifted bonnet and looked at the 'extra' fuel filter the previous owner had put in the fuel-engine pipe under bonnet. Held in hand and was covered in fuel it had split and was spraying fuel all over engine bay and bonnet, behind car was a trail of fuel. I lost about 1/4 of a tank. Grr

AA turned up replaced pipe, solved. Unsure why previous owner had installed it dunno if it was to impress or what but obviously it wasnt designed to take the presure.

Anyway pictures of car.

Only a few cosmetic things.

Door handles, wing mirrors and Skirts are black so will want these sprayed silver

Lights are Lexus ones not important too much tho will be looking at different ones soon

Slight scuff scratch on bonnet, again looking for a re-spray on this same time as handles etc.

Slight tear in drivers seat cover.

Can anyone recommend a good spray place locally that will do bonnet, handles, mirrors and skirts and a good price and good quality

And also what recommended about repairs to seat covers is there somewhere that does repairs or will i need to buy a new one and if so where from.

laters

Hi there

Looking good mate - I can help you with your painting requirements it is a little hobby of mine but I do a good job ;)

I have done many minor repair/ spray jobs now for neighbours/friends and even members all with no complaints.

You were really lucky with the fuel issue mate could have been nasty.

Let me know if you want me to have a look at the paint for you

Cheers Iain

lovely looking motor matey, nice and tidy. I know the feeling about the lack of fuel, ran out myself after 10mins after buying mine... Nightmare for you having that filter thingy go too though!

Youll have to get her along to a meet and show her off a little! ;)

Cheers guys, pretty sure I'll be at next meet.

Iain yes would be good to get an Idea on how much it would cost, would be an end of August ( i.e pay day) job but I want pretty soonish, let me know where you are and when available.

As for the filter it was just clear plastic cylinder with the usual filter looking paper inside. Sure it made no difference anyways felt just as good after Mr AA visited than before.

And yeah cheers for advice Matty count on my first purchase being a fuel can ;)
