james666 Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 (edited) evening all long time to see!!!!!!! i have a question i was wondering if anybody that has an apexi ecu has ever came across this problem. driving car along and when came onto aroundabout the car cut out and would not start again???? so in trying to figure out coz of said problem i switched back to standard ecu and car starts and drives fine but when plug apexi back in it refuses to start.........??????? anybody got any ideas if they can loose the map from them???? terzo neil Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 (edited) probably a circuit inside the ecu, could be voltage regulator, but without proper knowledge of the insides of the ecu could be hard to diagnose best course is either send it to someone who can repair/investigate or buy a new one cant loose map as far as i am aware Edited July 27, 2008 by Terzo Neil
james666 Posted July 27, 2008 Author Posted July 27, 2008 oh i meant to say the car does turn over just wont run.???
terzo neil Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 probably circuitry inside the ecu either for ign or firing the injectors if works with standard ecu, then looking at something inside the ecu
WUZ Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 UK car or import? Relevant question as the UK car need to have the CAM ond CRANK sensor wiring into ECU swapped whereas the WRX STi does not. Worth thinking about when checking the ECU. Russell
james666 Posted July 28, 2008 Author Posted July 28, 2008 the car is an sti import. And the car has ran for bout year now with apexi in it just cut out in middle of a roundabout. Just glad had standard ecu to plug back in

james666 Posted July 28, 2008 Author Posted July 28, 2008 (edited) there was a fault with the maf!!!!!! go figure when plugged standard ecu car ran fine john must be something to do with apexi being bit more sensitfive(spelling not worth jack $hit)so trigger safe mode and shut doon the bloody lot not good when in middle of a roundabout than standard ecu as i have changed maf and car running like the wee sweetie she is.
