slimshady
Hey all!!! My clutch has just started slipping, only very slightly but shes on her way out. Any advise or recommendations on what new one to go for?? I only want the normal / cheap option. No racing clutches for me thanks!! Ive found an Exedy kit on ebay for £160 delivered, should do the job I reckon!!!?? Fitting it myself so no worries there, just need to decide what make to go for. Got a classic STi Type R for reference, slightly bigger friction plate I think. Look forward to your thoughts.................... Link to comment

emoe
Exedy clutch is perfect for your needs. HOWEVER, while you are there, i would DEFINENTLY change the flywheel. If possible go for a lightweight one, the difference is AMAZING!! Link to comment

pistonbroke2
I don't want to put a downer on this, but I thought you should know. I bought a genuine exedy clutch for my mr2 turbo (yes, I know its not the same car) and I had no end of grief with it. I only had it in there a week before I had it ripped out and replaced with a stock one, which once fitted had no problems at all. The exedy clutch release bearing would chatter badly when the car was idling in neutral. It was embarassing beyond belief while stationary at traffic lights. I phoned the place I bought it from, Rogue systems, who stated it was a characteristic of the clutch and was normal. Link to comment

I had an exeedy admittedly only for about 4k miles before I sold last week, but was good for me, but I had no mods apart from a 3" straight through exhaust. Link to comment

Despite the name, they are renowned in the MR2 scene. They have a tuned Rev3 turbo that turned up at santa pod when mkivsupra.net hired the pod for the day. It was seriously quick, it destroyed a few high tuned Supras down the strip. I have it on one of my videos that I posted on this site a while back. Link to comment
