thewelsho Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 I got a shot of some ramps for the car, but the car is too low to get all the way up them, but it got me up far enough using some blocks of wood to get my trolly jack under. I then jacked it up and put the axle stands where you can see them in the picture. Question is, is this safe so that neither I nor the car will be damaged? Thanks!
scoobykev Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 that doesn't look like a proper jacking point, can't you get the stands at the correct points?. You could be risking bending something there.
wilky Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 Its fine, I had the car on stands there yesterday, not a drama. Callum W

wilky Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 Cheers mate! What are those bits called by the way? They are called long metal front flux capacitators and they compensate for the torque shnemfs. I have no idea lol. Callum W

scoobykev Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 i stand corrected, maybe should've posted a pic up of my car before it was jacked up and bent a bit at the back end a couple of weeks ago
wilky Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 i stand corrected, maybe should've posted a pic up of my car before it was jacked up and bent a bit at the back end a couple of weeks ago Its easy to pick the wrong bit to jack up (No pun intended if any junkies are reading) If its body weight bearing chances are you can jack it up, its always good to ask though if your not sure. colzo Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Just to be sure where are the best points to jack up with a trolley jack (front and rear)?
speech Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Just to be sure where are the best points to jack up with a trolley jack (front and rear)? Someone posted details and pics the other day (I think) and for the front there's a plate just above where the trolley jack is in Welsho's first pic (behind the plastic undertray and beneath the ARB) and for the rear best bet is put a block of wood on your trolley jack plate and jack her up using the rear diff.
thewelsho Posted June 26, 2008 Author Posted June 26, 2008 Just to be sure where are the best points to jack up with a trolley jack (front and rear)? As Speech said (no pun intended ) it was on another thread which is here: http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=117955
