scoobzie Posted May 26, 2008 Author Posted May 26, 2008 (edited) first of was told at the gate my money was for monopoly so my reply to this was if the money isn,t good enough you no what u can do and then to ad further insult was asked if i had anything hidden in the car so i said to the guy yes i got some refugees and drugs and also at the burger bar complained about the money again i wont be making the journey down there again anyone on here who knows me will tell you what my answers would have been to those people cheers scoobzie Edited May 26, 2008 by scoobzie
andrew_forrest Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 They asked to check my in boot too, I didn't have a problem with that. They also looked mistrustingly at my Scottish money but so did the petrol stations etc, that is the norm in my experience. Andy

Never gonna stop that down south unfortunately, maybe we're too trusting up here. Who knows. Surely it wasnt that bad a day mate, was it?
scoobzie Posted May 26, 2008 Author Posted May 26, 2008 i didn,t have a problem with looking in the boot or anywere in the car andy it,s the same at most venues but the guys attitude and tone off voice just stunk m8 i felt like a unwelcomed guest even my friend thought so
StewartyBoy Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Well you live and learn mate. Staying at home next time then lol
scientific steve Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 It's a great shame that a few may bu&&er things up for a group from here when I went down there last year I received none of the coments and funny looks at the money that you were getting and over the last 4 years I've been down to engerlandshire more times than I can remember, south coast, east cost, middle, no probs funny thing is the last time anyone has said anything about the scottish money I had just handed over was that it was less chance of it being a fake !!!! hope you aint been put off for good
AlanG Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 Odd experience and different to mine on the day. I handed over a Scottish 'twenty' 'an never had a problem, but was expectin' it as i do with any Scottish notes anywhere in Englandshire. One of the problems some English have is the Scottish humour when you try and make catty remarks, they just don't get it, but for the most part, keep it light humoured rather than defensive, and 9 times out of 10 everythings fine. As for the food, the first time i went in the morning it was fine, but they were under pressure when everyone wanted to eat at lunchtime. I had to wait ages and then say to them again i was still waiting, as others came and went, but they apologised and were pleasant enough and topped up my drink for nowt for the inconvenience. As for the guys that were there whether it was pros or privateers, they all made me feel welcome and were quite chatty with none of the "i'm really busy and can't be a***d with talkin' to you" feeling that you sometimes get. Maybe it was because the event was quite chilled out and not as frenetic as some have been in the past, but i had a good day there. My only disappointment is i feel the event has maybe ran its' course and is starting to lose its' appeal?

Surely you don't have to buy the full kit, or do you?
RA Dunk Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 Surely you don't have to buy the full kit, or do you? no its just a case of changing the broken gear i think, theres been quite a few failures with the ppg kits lately
thewelsho Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 no its just a case of changing the broken gear i think, theres been quite a few failures with the ppg kits lately That's not a good sign. I called up their orgainsation and the girl on the other end of the phone was telling me that they are pretty hard to break, giving me the impression that if you had a PPG kit in your gearbox, you were pretty much sorted. At 3.5k just for the bits, its all a bit worrying.
