deani_age Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 I was told by a well known brake expert not to use red stuff pads on a Impreza as he wouldn't use them on his wheel barrow There's nothing wrong with EBC Redstuff pads (providing they are warmed up). Used them on my original Trackday WRX RA (front and rear), until I upgraded the fronts to AP 6 Pots, still retained the single pot rears with the Redstuff pads.
turbo2000wagon Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Heard a rumour that someone once stuck a RR Spitfire engine in a roller, almost as mad as that helicopter turbine bike thingy.
Scooby Hoo? Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Heard a rumour that someone once stuck a RR Spitfire engine in a roller, almost as mad as that helicopter turbine bike thingy. Yes I saw it back in the 70/80's 0-200 in about 6 sec's or something silly like that and was road legal.

Do you know what sort of Hp it ran, I know the Spitfire engine (Merlin?) changed a bit through it's life. When I was younger I went to Silverstone to see some vintage racing and they had an aero engined Bentley which (I think) was around 24 litres and that was a monster (but that was pre-war?). It was as long as a bus and wasn't much for the corners but you should of seen it down the straights!!! Nothing else stood a chance!!
