correct me if im wrong, but dont people wear sun glasses, due to the glare of the sun including police officers, maybe they should be banned too, the police havnt got nothing better to do than hit the motorist as they are an easy target to give them more income B)

Yes but 99% of people only wear sunglasses when it's sunny and not at night or in the rain when front tints do affect you vision (although i still liked having them B) )

i agree with you, but you still get drivers with really bright lights at night which blind your eyes, so it wouldnt be a bad thing if you could have light tints to stop the glare at night, ive had tints years ago on a car, & they didnt give me any problems night or day they made my vision better :rotfl:

Police don't gain income from fining people. Sure, I'll admit that there are a few job pissed old bill, but we're not all like that. From experience, it tends to be the traffic division (white hats) that are usually the numpty's that think they know it all.

Out of interest, how do you test the tint percentage on a window? I would challenge a copper in the street who told me a tint was too dark. Surely ambient light would affect the tint and there is no roadside test that I know of that would prove it.

Yes they do, they put a sensor against the window and it tells them what percentage of light is being let through

The fact that they have show use only written all over them should answer your question, but in law -:

Danger of Injury

Section 40A Road Traffic Act 1988 - level 4/5 fine 3 points

A person is guilty of an offence if he uses, causes or permits another to use a motor vehicle or trailer on a road when :-

• the condition of the motor vehicle or trailer, or of its accessories or equipment, or

• the purpose for which it is used, or

• the number of passengers carried by it, or the manner in which they are carried, or

• the weight, position or distribution of its load, or the manner in which it is secured,

is such that the use of the motor vehicle or trailer involves a danger of injury to any person.
