ONe of my mates was registered on the 28/3/06 so got stung for 400 quid a total fecking con. if you have a higher c02 emmision then you more than likely get less to the gallon so you pay more in the tax on petrol, so why should we pay more on road tax, that just goes to pay a few more taxi rides for MPs wives. if it was spent on the roads to make them acceptable rather than an assault course of pot holes.............nah 400 quid is still a fecking con!
scouk Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 (edited) Sounds about right sadly... At least your increase has gone up over a couple of years.. 200 > 300 then > 400 Mine goes from 210 up to 415 next year!! WTF's up with that!! Take note! a "New" sporty car will cost you big in 2010+ Classics start to look more attractive with changes like this.... Edited May 10, 2008 by ScoUK

Got mine's in today £185 for a year so i'm happy with that ,mine's is a MY01 WRX first registered in Nov 00,but i think charging £400 for a year is shocking and when you look at the condition of the roads Stevie 01WRX
C_WRX Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 I thought I'd heard in 2010 it doubled again? Is that rubbish...really hope so, £400 too high as is !! Really though, a green tax, don't mind doing my bit for the planet an all but £400 a year !!!
corsa Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Just got mine online 400 bangers and just for quickness they charge an extra £2.50 for using a credit card. Fan fukcin tastic.
bogie Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Yep this really gets on ma titties, especially when you consider a higher performance car emitting something like 385g/CO2 and costs over £100k doesn't pay much more than our scoobs (most of which are now worth well under £20k). You've also got all the old heaps of kak that stink with plumes coming out and they pay a loy less, really fair! But that's just the shechty labour gov for you, sticking it right up the crinkley of the workers who put them there in the 1st place. Shower of bum bandits the lot of them! If it was about the evironment and not cash then no cars over a certian CO2 would be allowed to be sold in the UK.
scouk Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 What's really depressing is that my dad runs around in a 35+ year old landrover... The MOT test for it doesn't have an emissions test, it has a "smoke test" (No joke!) yet he pays £0 for road tax! WTF is that all about!!!!!
