Closed Deck Block ?

When i bought my classic from Jamie(hisoob),the one I'm now trying to sell,I'm sure he said it had a closed deck block.....how is it you tell,someone please remind me :cussing:

I think there are hatched markings near the alternator belt or pulley!

Forgive my ignorance... what is a closed deck block? :rolleyes::blush:

basically subaru do three types of block, the closed deck the semi closed deck and the open with the closed deck being the strongest :)

Oh right! And what does that mean? What is the deck? What does closed mean? Etc etc...

to see if its closed deck look under your altenator and if you see horizontan and vertical lines crossing each other like a large hash key then you have a closed deck block. happy hunting
