Fuel Problem With My Old Car

Recommended Posts

Posted

I always ran the car on normal Shell petrol from the same garage for the past year..

The car had a quarter tank in it when the guy took it away... no problems at all until he let it get near empty and filled it up with BP standard fuel.... I know i told him to use Shell.. :rotfl:

He's just been on the phone to tell me that it is coughing and spluttering when taking away and when going to accelerate further up the rev range in 5th.

CEL light has come on and the code is something to do with fuel apparently...

Any ideas or help for him please..

it has probably sooked up all the crap from the bottom of the tank thats why we dont let our cars go below quater of a tank maybe just needs a wee fuel filter change and a wee reset

Hope its nothing too serious tho mate

Hi Guys

Finally got my validation through :P

The car had a hose popped off that was attached to the airbox so i reconnected it tonight and all seems well again :D. It doesn't seem to be idling bang on but theres no spluttering in low revs anymore. Other than that the car is mint Chris and cheers again.

Yeah seems to be fine mate it was actually Lynne that noticed something had popped off :P. Now i'll empty the tank of BP ****e from it and get some decent fuel in it.

Lynne got a shot up and down the A7 yesterday and thought it was magic :P
