scooby princess Posted March 27, 2008 Author Posted March 27, 2008 And yet another worse day!! Today it was made clear AGAIN just how much my weight is an issue - I was refused treatment under general due to to weight /height ratio - something about guidelines they have to stick to. Ended up having tooth Extraction done as a normal pracedure but needing 6 injection to numb the area.

kip Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 (edited) It's been 11 days and no up date ^_^ come on jac how are you getting on Edited April 10, 2008 by kip
scooby princess Posted April 10, 2008 Author Posted April 10, 2008 In the past 14 days ive been suffering. After having a rather distressing and hurtful tooth extraction which required 6 injections into the gum and muscles leaving me unable to eat properly. I have tried soft foods and chewing on the other side but it does'nt work. Today i had a soft sandwich but got a small bit stuck in the wound and had to get it out to stop infection but as i did the wound started to bleed and i was then packing it again to clot the top of it. The whole area it tender and soft and the experience has really put me off food! I bought over £60 of soft food to eat after tooth came out and its not been eaten just thrown. My taste buds do prefer sour stuff but i do get craving for something sweet. Scared of eating crisps just in case i catch the gummy area with sharp edges. Really getting miffed! Havent weighed myself as worried ive put on again!
kip Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Just stick at it and all will come right in the end. All you have to remember is it take's time

frenchy Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 I've always had problems controlling my weight, it's been the hardest to control since I gave up smoking 3 years ago. But I've learnt some things along the way with a little help from a good friend of mine..... If you don't eat, your body will know about it. It starts to build up a resistance to starving yourself and you don't end up losing any weight. Your body is a smart thing, so don't treat it like an idiot You need to balance your carbs, fat and protein Jac. You need your carbs for energy, but you need the right carbs. Brown carbs, bread, porridge, wholemeal pasta are all slow release carbs which will benefit your more than white.... white carbs just tend to bloat you. Fruit and Veg are both carbs too Try to have a higher protein intake than carbs, but don't stuff yourself full of fatty proteins like burgers or sausages. Grilled Chicken, Fish, Seafood are all good examples. Your body does need fat, but a certain amount and make sure you don't have too much saturated fat (in crisps, cakes, burgers etc). I hope that helps Kim
