st3ph3n Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 I'll be the first to say it then Gus: it's not for me. Not knowing the full scenario but I'd have though the money spent on mods could have been used to fund the fuel and purchase price of something a bit turbo! I think it looks okay and everything, but I think there's some finer cars out there in the wagon department than the NA leggys. But as long as you're happy then who gives a **** what the rest of us think!

Actually Stephen, for the value for money aspect and the room in the back (a real reason for buying an astate in the first place), then the Leggies are hard to beat. Probably just as well Gus didn't get a GT-B though, the list of mods for them seems to endless (no pun intended) when you find the Hyper Rev books for them.
Carson Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 (edited) a dont know about you lot, but if it had one of them engines andyF is selling in it. It would look a whole lot better ! a leg-i in disguise just need to make it more angry at the front if u got that engine! styling wise, new headlights, grill? clean look atm..... nice Edited February 14, 2008 by Carson
gus the bus Posted February 14, 2008 Author Posted February 14, 2008 thanks for the comments positive and negative guys ! St3ph3n, to answer or discuss your comments... tbh one of the purposes for the Leggy is towing a horse trailer (since the good old Saab went to the big scrap yard in the sky) as well as a bit of fun for me, taking the dog out, getting the bikes into and possibly towing a speedboat in the summer something "a bit turbo" was out of the question overall £'s wise. The sale of the forester had to buy 2 cars. Another HUGE factor was the very very cheap price for a 2001 car with 54k and FSH (and all the toys) that I bought it for, was an opportunity I grabbed with both hands. The 2.5 NA is actually very very capable and other than possibly an Audi A4 estate (which would have been well out of the budget) is by far one of the best estate cars on the market IMHO particular with the level of equipment v £'s purchase price and reliability factor( I have had one previously and put 80k miles on it in two years without fault) so had something to base the purchase on . Anyway, as you say if i'm happy who gives a Falkirk what others think Cheers Gus
boris b Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Good transformation Gus. It suits the wheels and tints.

Alan-G Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Cheers Kit Agreed with Acid Gus, the leggy is looking well smart. I looked at John Weirs new Outback and was well impressed (Russell being the main man) may have one of them to tow the boat It looks well capable. The forester did it easily - but I think - for continually towing - a leeggy or an Outty may be the answer. Leggy preffered. Well done Gus.
