Lo everyone was wondering what the best upgrade turbo there is...as in value for money. Trying to get to 400bhp, I've got or will have the following changes

FMIC

800cc Sard Injectors

Emanage Ultimate

Apexi Induction with hard pipe

Wizards of Nos Kit (100bhp) with Progressive controller + 11lb bottole in the boot

Dunno about the manifold and exhaust til the car turns up will make changes if nessesary

Seen about the TD05 is ment to be a good upgrade is this the case?

thnx in advance :)

Steve :)

As if by magic.......................

dont bother with Nos (bottles are for babies).

FMIC - definately.

800cc Sard Injectors - 650cc will be enough.

Emanage Ultimate - fit a SimTek ecu.

Apexi Induction with hard pipe - if use a hybrid fmic will be complete with cold air induction kit.

Wizards of Nos Kit (100bhp) with Progressive controller + 11lb bottole in the boot - NO

Dunno about the manifold and exhaust til the car turns up will make changes if nessesary - decent set of headers i.e. GT Spec or RCM, 3" full decat exhaust (or spoirts cat)

a TD05/20G will not get to 400bhp without using fuel additives. You will require a bigger turbo to break the 400bhp barrier, but you need to think of the internals of the engine, what model & year are you getting as that will make a difference to safe horsepower levels without a rebuild.

Realistically for 400bhp you will need a GT30 hybrid from www.enginetuner.co.uk , I hope you are very friendly with your bank manager.

To discuss options I would suggest a phone call or visit to see Martyn once you have the car.

thnx for getting back to me loads of useful info there, I've got a 94 Tommy kiara M20b coming end of feb, obviously unknown factor if the internals have bin upgraded or not...what do you recommend for the internals then, cos if I knock off the NOS then I can probably save me self just over 500 notes lol so what could I put that to, to increase performance :)

cheers

WERE THE TOMMY KAIRO'S NOT A 2.2 LITRE TUNED ENGINE ??? ALL OF THE EQUIPMENT ON THEM WERE DIFFERENT FROM STANDARD IMPREZAS INC THE ENGINE AS A RESULT OF HAVING HIS NAME ON THEM

TAKEN FROM WIKAPEDIA ''Due to the great dimension of mechanical and visual improvements worked out on the cars, Tommy Kaira has consistently rebranded the cars as if they were completely manufactured by the company itself, with the consent of the parent manufacturers: for example, a Subaru Impreza is rebranded as Tommy Kaira M20b''

I have seen a few Tommy Kairas over the years , all of them were standard 2.0 litre engines......

I won't argue that there may have ben 2.2 litre versions , but I haven't seen any....

I think the enhancements were more visual and weight reduction on the earlier models and on the later ones incorporated a stroker kit for the increase in power
