Car Underseal

just noticed a bit of rust bubbling around rear wheel arch (mainly from me not cleaning dirt from the iner lip i suppose)

jacked car up to have a good look under it, looks like it could do with an underseal (its a 99 uk and looks about 30 years old underneath. my old corrado was a 90 and was mint underneath). noticed subaru paint does not seem to have many coats (easily scratched compaired to any other car i've had) so i guess they were very sparing with the underseal too

is there any good underseal spray stuff with added rust killer? the stuff on halfords website only look like underseal but with no rust killer.

wheel arch will need repaired by bodyshop but i'd rather underseal myself if any decent stuff on the go.

cheers

think its wrong time of year to be doing this kinda stuff.

maybe get away with something that displaces water but the likes of tetroseal etc would just make it worse by sealing in damp.

unless of course you have nice heated garage

lol got a heated garage, my car is well treated every night. i'm thinking it could be the heating that is making the rust worse so quick as few weeks ago there was no bubbling. should maybe hose off the salt before it dries in every night.

cheers for advise though i'll leave it till summer

For some reason this chap never got back to me? Like a said before this guy done the work on his spare time for classic cars of friends / enthusiasts.

His close friend from time to time comes in the gym on a nightly basis and swears hes mad and loosing out on extra cash. When I asked him about the jobs "5-10 cars " he claims that this time of year was terrible for the material to harden correctly and set perfect. Might have been more hassle than it was worth ?

Either he didn't want to do it or what ever, my apologies for no follow up

If he comes back to me ill post a new topic up

Chris
