colzo Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 I know a few of you guys have went for the white wheels so don`t take this the wrong way. I personally don`t get this 'white wheel' fad, to me it looks cheap and just stands out far too much and I can`t get the idea of Dulux Emulsion out my head! Now bronze on the other hand looks very nice.
little vodka goblin Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 I reckon the gold looks best but as already said it's all down to personal choice

Of course they stand out compared to ordinary cars. All I was saying was that I don`t like white wheels, you ask for opinions and I gave you mine. This is only my personal opinion so please don`t take offence as its your car and your money to do what you want with.

Dont worry fella I was only joking, I did indeed put the question out to see what people thought. I am glad to report that although there are a few gold lovers - white seems to be the popular choice. The wheels will need to come off soon anyway as they are running with intermeddiate tarmac tyres and with the weather the way it is just now I might end up with the baby through a hedge!!!
StrikE Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Gold, if anything they stay cleaner looking for longer
duncan_stephen Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 (edited) White all the way. Even with a solid wheel like the RL7!!! Edited November 30, 2007 by DuncATR

fraz692002 Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 Whats your thoughts lads and ladettes??? white looks great mate
iainc Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 Got to say I'm not a huge fan of the white wheels either. They do work on certain cars (white ones for example) but generally don't add anything IMO. I do like the anthracite coloured wheels, etc due to the brake dust hiding qualities... I mean I couldn't keep the gold/bronze wheels looking clean so I'd have no chance in hell of ever keeping white wheels looking white.
frank c Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 (edited) Whats your thoughts lads and ladettes??? Now there's a place that looks familiar ... and it's not the only nice car I've seen there How's the rally car ?? ps: The white looks pants.. but the pic st3ph3n put up looks sorted though, Edited December 1, 2007 by Frank C
rallyfever Posted December 1, 2007 Author Posted December 1, 2007 (edited) The rally car is back on the road, just been to TEG with it and as usual it cost me an arm and a leg to get it back ship shape, but its now pushing it's way up to 300bhp and in fine working order. Entered The Christmans Stages at Croft for the old shakedown on December 29th, see what happens from there, maybe do a few others as the year goes by. Got the Jim Clark planned - but no others at the moment. So are you gonna tell me how you recognise the place that the car is then - or is it total guess work on my behalf who you are??? That would be my brother I think, he is just in the process of selling his MGZR Stars car for an EVO6 from Kenny McKinstry, it was Kenny's daughrter Emma's car and although a bit tatty on the outside it seems to be a bit of a go'er. I now live in Edinburgh but still have my rally car down there as they have a good bit of ground and storage as you probably noticed when you were there. So are you coming down this year? It's in May once again. I will be living at a place called Carfraemill by then (just outside Lauder) so keep in touch and there may be space for you in either house of you wanna stay for the weekend.
frank c Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 Hi Gary, I thought it might have been your brother. I've spoken to your Auld man and Mum a few times and only just spoke to your brother the other week. Very friendly family...oh, and the house isn't too bad either He showed me round I heard on the grape vine about the Evo, he was kinda curious how I found out so quick. No secrets in Duns eh.... lol I take it the Impreza is yours ? I was admiring the rear spoiler today.. Catch up with you soon and thanks for the offer..If I'm not working I might just take you up on it
rallyfever Posted December 6, 2007 Author Posted December 6, 2007 Offering rooms at my gaff and I still dont have a clue who you are, the only clue I have is a red van which could be Dingbro, or any of the other many red vans that come to the business!!!!!
