Hi ive now had my 55 plate WRX for 3 months now and im starting to want to do stuff to it but since im new to the game I lack the knowledge (i have been driving for 16 years but a car has always been a "get me from A to B thing" up until now  ). It is a 2.0ltr WRX with a PPP kit in it which I believe takes my bph from 225 up to 265. What other steps can I take to start beefing it up a bit (remember to talk in basic language as i dont really know anything about engines). It is the first time in my life that I have bought a car that I wanted rather than just one that was within my budget and what a car it is ;) I also read on this forum that once you start down this road it is never ending but thats fine by me as I have just turned 40 and this is my Present to myself so its my toy. Any help would be great guys......

Many Thanks in Advance............

Hey there.

First thing is whether or not you have a warranty on the car? If not the worlds your oyster, but if you do, question yourself if you wanna keep it intact or not bothered about it.

Yeh still have just under a year left but im not too fussed about it, Im a late starter to this so dont want to wait another year before I start playing around with it........... or do you think I should hold off?

Each to their own mate, but remember the price you paid for the car included a warranty, so i say make use of it first.

Failing that, uprating brakes and handling should always be the first things to do....power goes ontop of those items. If it's just uprated discs and pads for the standard calipers, then may be worth waiting a while till they need replaced? A good set of springs, uprated anti roll bars, rear drop links and anti lift kit with full geometery setup will all work together very well.

How are you doing Scott? That didn't take long for you to get the modding bug (if you don't count the first 40 years!).

I agree with DRB5 above. Before I sold the car to you the two things I had in mind was to upgrade the brakes, just the discs and pads initially to improve on the pretty poor standard brakes. The other thing I had in mind was to fit a dump valve - I just love the sound!

Looking at your avatar, as long as you don't fit loads of mirrors to the front like you did with your Vespa when we were wee you should be alright!!!
