Sti Type-ra Differences ?

Recommended Posts

Seen a few sti type-ra's on here recently and thinking of getting one myself. I think a version 2 is the one for me. Just wondering if anyone knows about the WRX typeRA STi 2 V-limited and how they differ from just a WRX typeRA STi 2. All I really know is the V-ltd is blue :rotfl: So any info appreciated. Also where's the best place to get a V-ltd? Is importing the preferred option?

Cheers.

V ltd's have a few changes above the usual RA's.

Yes, they're blue, they also have a longer 5th gear, quick steering rack, blue interior/dash part's, plaque, roof scoop (type r too) and probably some other stuff too.

That doesn't really matter though as I'm pretty sure you don't get them on version 2's. Think its just version 5's and maybe 6's too.

So you don't get a version 2 V-limited? I always thought the STI-RA with the McRae/Ringer seats, and only 555 made was a V- Limited. I think you need a degree in Imprezology to figure out all these different versions.

Hepy yes you can get a v2 STi Type RA V-Ltd (cos I've got one) and your understanding is correct, they come with longer 5th gear, quick rack steering, short shift gear box, DCCD, 5 injector, roof scoop, light weight panels and only 555 were built. oh, and they have a special shade of blue, different from the other shades of blue

I think Playsatan means that you dont get the following stuff on my particular model:

- blue interior and dash parts

- interior plaque (the plaque showing the build number is on my boot lid).

Just to confuse you, the v2 STi RA V-Ltd is very similar to the v2 STi 555 limited edition, clicky for a comparison between my RA and Squiggle's 555

Your sort of correct Colin but your answer is for the V6 V-Ltd

For the V2 STI RA V-Limited the main differences between a std STI RA and V-Limited are Sports Blue colour (same shade as the Scottish Saltire), Autographed embroidered seats bearing the names of Colin McRae and Derek Ringer and Commemerative FIA badge on the boot with numbered plaque out of 555.

Depending on the original buyer of the car in Japan will determine wether the car has Quickrack steering, Electric Windows, Aircon, Electric Ariel and Uprated suspension parts like the Pink lateral arms. The V-Ltd was the first car Subaru sold out of before production began as the "Limited" (STI 555, WRX Limited and STI RA V-Limited) range of cars were built to celebrate the WRC title win in 1995. Within 48hrs of the STI RA V-Limited being announced all 555 cars had been sold. So the spec of each car vary wildly as the car was specced to the customers wishes. They could either choose the "Comfort Pack", which consisted of Air-Con, Central Locking and Electric windows, or the could choose the "Sports pack", which consisted of Uprated suspension parts and Quickrack steering or they could just pick certain options from either list.

If you want a closer look at a genuine early V-Limited then speak to Imy (micra_wrc) on here as hers is a nice example.
