ormiboy Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Hi Welsho. Just another relative novices opinion here. Id try to get a nice chap with another 06 wrx to let you try his ecu for a bit. I guess its easier said than done but worth a bash! Also did andys work not stablish that it was local to cylinder 3 or am i remembering another post? If it is local to cyl 3 then would that not suggest that the pump and filter are not an issue? as this would not be cylinder specific? Also do no tuners here have access to an inspectction scope. With plugs out the offending cylinder may be inspected for damage. Just another wee bit of advice ( which prob anit any good!) Best of luck with gordy too mate. Cheers Willie
chris_c201 Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 As with a couple of others i can't add much help but hope you get it sorted ASAP mate. Did i pass you on victoria road one day last week, i was in grey classic STi (looks like RB5) going in the opposite direction? Would have been about 5ish i think....

Cheers Willie Willie: Andy did say that testing the ECU with another would be a good idea, if for no reason other than to rule out a faulty ECU. He also mentioned that he can do this, and then that and then this, to make it work, but it was all over my wee hied! The bottom line was that it could be done, but like you suggest, getting an 06 ECU is not going to be easy. We have not been able to ascertain which cylinder is causing the trouble thus far, so that was perhaps someone else's post.
