superstar_tradesman Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Did at 1st, but looked again yesterday and its only one side with the dent. strutt has probably popped out. Should find out today if its fixable. Hope it is mate and your back on the road asap
david_taylor Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Hope it is mate and your back on the road asap No news today, which makes me think the damage was not as bad as I thought. They may be waiting to find out prices from Subaru before they can decide to fix or write off. If its gubbed, I think I am going to salvage it myself and break it up, assuming my mate will let me store it at his garage and use his toois to break. Brand new clutch, and red stuff pads 200 miles ago. Full Stainless Steel Magnex mid section and back box. That would cover my excess easily alone, never mind interior, spoiler, shell and engine! Wait and see eh!

GolfGTI Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 ...as he came off the M876 tonight towards Larbert he lost the rearend of the car at around 50mph... 50mph you say... Not only do I know that particular slip road very well, I actually passed the Subaru on the grass banking. It wasn't even remotely greasy on the road at the time. If you get you lines right, that corner can be taken at 80mph+ in a Golf GTI with the highly untalented me at the wheel. So, will the truth about this accident out? Regardless, I'm happy to hear that both people involved were unhurt and that the car at this stage appears to be fixable. Just hope the insurance don't hammer you next year.

Just hope the insurance don't hammer you next year. Your talkin p!sh mate. The road was greasy at the time, and when you passed, which I noticed was a skanky green GTI(if that was you) I had been there for an hour and the road had dried out a fair bit. Take it at 80+ if you want. The limits 70 ya tube and if you tried to take that corner in greasy conditions at that speed you will not get round that bend. You will end up like the Golf GTI driver the recovery driver told me about on that bend that ended up trapped in the field in the marsh with the fire brigade keeping him alive under the water with breathing apparatus as they tried to cut him out from his upturned car. The traffic cops told me there has been at least 12 cars off there in the past year and that I was the first not to end up in the field. I value there opinion more than yours!! As for insurance - I have 9 years NCB(which you dont get easily if you are a wreckless or poor driver as you seem to be accusing me off) which is protected - so no hammering for me! Please keep your comments like this to yourself. Forum users here does not appriciate people coming on and making accusations of people with not a shred of evidence to back themselves up!! Especially when they have ended up off the road and with a damaged car. I admit the conditions caught me out, and that it was my fault. But I dont need tubes like you coming on and trying to stir it up!!!!! Dave Superstar Tradesman - Its getting fixed by Nationwide at larbert cross. Edited October 2, 2007 by dtabbit77
Double Zero Posted October 2, 2007 Author Posted October 2, 2007 (edited) This is the last thing we need a Sherlock Holmes, whoever you are mate let me tell you i was at the scene of the accident within 10 minutes and the road was still damp and the traffic cop commented that the whole surface of that stretch of road is in need of resurfacing. As for your comment about the truth coming out both persons who were involved in this accident are part of my family and would not tell any lies about something like this. I suggest you keep you comments to yourself in future. Stevie Edited October 2, 2007 by Double Zero
