For Future Reference

Hi Folks

After mapping, I was advised to upgrade my TMIC to an STi one. My car is MY06 and was wondering what year of STi intercooler would fit mine without having to chop bits away and the like. Is it possible to get an STi TMIC to bolt straight on? If so, what range of Model Year will fit.

As I said in the topic title, this is a future purchase (though hopefully not to far depending on price) as i have cleaned myself out in the meantime.

Thanks :o

I'm positive the hawkeye tmic are different to all the others, Bandit's was parked next to mine once and someone pointed out (maybe Gus the Bus) how different they were. Who am I to say though, I know feck all about whats under that bonnet thing :o

Did they not change the IC on the 06 onwards to be a more efficient design?

Go and take a picture John!

I would have, but the car is in his wee bed for tomorrow as it is 10pm. Maybe someone can have a look at it tomorrow and check for sure.

here's mine (56 plate STi) if this helps

Hard to say Neil. The IC in the WRX is not as big from front to back which of course provides better cooling. This is fine, the question is whether or not there is a difference in the width.

come to think about it, that IC should fit mine as both our cars are MY06s. I doubt there will be too many ICs going around for sale from models that new, so I have to hope that earlier models will also fit.
