Scooby Turbo!

Well i've been wondering for sometime now if the Scoob's Turbo had been upgraded or not due to the acceleration being much quicker than standard.

I thought it might have been upgraded from the standard TD04 to a TD05 but without being able to see where the plaque was on the unit I wasn't 100% sure.

The plan was if I managed to find out without having to start taking things apart if it was still the standard unit then I would upgrade but that would set me back a good £500 inc' fitting. Well this morning I was able to finally spot the plaque & took a piccie with my mobie & it looks like I'll be saving myself a good few hundred quid

Now all I need to figure out is do I need to upgrade the TMIC for a larger one or will it be ok with the standard Intercooler

Ohhh TD05 mmmmmm that be a turbo i would like to upgrade too..

Do you want a front mount instead Ken? Yeh bit extra lag but alot safer for future proffing if you ever wanted more power? Also it help keep the charge temps down so to help reduce detonation?

Also maybe get shot of the heat sheld for a turbo wrap bag? and maybe caramic coating?

Just a thought dude.

I've got a 05 WRX intercooler for sale. I'm sure it could be made to fit, and would give a useful size increase over standard.

Well now I'm really confused I've now been told that the TD05 Turbo was standard on the STi-V1 anyway Apparently the Wagon's had the TD04 & Saloon's had the TD05 but chances are its a 16G.

So now I need to know if it's been upgraded to a 20G as somethings not right. The cars way to quick off the mark to be just the standard unit. Will this 16G/20G be stamped on that plaque as I think I'll be getting the tourch out again
