jd Posted September 24, 2007 Author Posted September 24, 2007 Had an excellent day, was good to back in competition. Met with Martyn & Alan Jeffries at Tamar Bridge about 8am, and had a gentle drive down. Weather was not the best, very wet or just wet. Martyn in his Pulsar & Alan in the Murtaya, with the green classic scoob meeting us at the event. Got to Portreath after a slight detour (Martyn LOL) to be faced with a very wet track and venue. Due to the weather, the organiser decided on only running the 1/8 of a mile for safety and let the cars run 1st to dry the track for the bikes. Off we go! First couple of runs, I could not get the launch right, so on went the launch control (wet us only) and got better as the day went on. Track started to dry late morning, so it was a mixture of cars & bikes for the rest of the day. I managed to get down to an 8.4sec for the 1/8 of a mile & Martyn got an 8.1sec in my car!!!!!!!!!!! Managed over 12 runs in all and the car never faltered once. Had the bonnets open a couple of times to draw the crowds, and pushed business to . www.enginetuner.co.uk Must say a big thank you to Martyn, Alan & all at www.enginetuner.co.uk for building me the car, very very pleased with the overall package and reliability, didnt use a drop of oil.........................but cant say the same for the fuel. LOL Would recommend the event to anyone. Was an excellent day & will go again.
