Need Help With Messages

Having trouble sending PMs at the moment. Does the person you are trying to send the message to need to have you on their 'Friends List'? Also got caught out with the 'I Touch Goats' when you try and abreviate You Have Private Message!!!!!!!!!!!! Thought I was tripping and edited the post quick. Anyone else had problems? Just for the records I don`t touch goats or sheep for that matter.

Colin. No probs here with PMs. Also, there is no need to do the old YPMH. The PM system on here is light-years ahead of its predecessor. When you first access the site while logged in, refresh the page or click a link within the site, a pop-up box alerts you to new any new PMs received. Its fantastic! Users can also see at a glance if they have PMs by looking at the blue bar at the top of the page. If there are any messages, it says "1 New Message". You can also have an e-mail sent to your inbox alerting you to new PMs. Great stuff!

OH! and no ned to be on Friend's Lists either.

And you might want to edit your title from "Pms" to "PMs". Kinda looks like you are having ladie's problems

Well spotted John. Next question, how do you edit your topic title?

Go to the original post, click the "Edit" button at the bottom. From the dropdown menu select "Full Edit". Edit the text in the title field; easy

Editing the title won't work. The system is deliberately set to do that to prevent SHOUTING in topic titles. i.e. "READ ME!!!!!!!" will be turned into "Read Me!"

Very good Andy, had me worried for a bit, didn`t know what was happening! Back to the subject, I have sent messages but when I go to the message box it shows no messages have been sent????

PM's aren't automatically put in sent items as sent items are added to your overall message quota. If you want a message you send copied to your sent items then you must tick the box to do so above the send button.

One of the major drivers in going for this forum solution is around PMs. I know the pain PMs caused previously and I KNOW this solution works 100%. If you send a message, I can guarantee the recipient will receive it. The stats indicate a large upswing in the use of PM's since we switched. I think folk are starting to have confidence that they do actually work now

Because the old forum data was imported, the answer is yes
