JDMSTI Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 Hi, Was having a look for info on my wheels as they were on my car when it was imported (8 x 17 Racing Hart CP035's) and it got me to thinking about unsprung weight. I believe the wheels are 14lb's each, how does this compare to other 8" x 17" alloys that other members have on their cars? Who's got the lightest/heaviest 17"'s on their impreza? Performance seems very strong on my (standard) Bug jdm sti, would the wheels make a noticeable difference or is this just in my head because I know the wheels are lighter??! Cheers, Dave

If i was going for TE-37's it would have to be Colins Purple Magenesium items over the std TE wheels. I really like a Scoob with a set of Compomoitive MO's on it I still prefer my Gramlights 57c's over the Volk's and if they are good enough for the Millenium Falcon then they are good enough for me
colin_ross Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 They won't be purple for long mate. Plans are afoot
spooks Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Wheels are unsprung weight will make a differance to momentum but lighter wheels help more in steering and suspension. Less unsprung weight generally limits tramlining, and can give better grip overall. Performance increase I reckon would be very difficult to guage, but you may notice it. Anyone wanna buy me a set of Volk CE28's?
the squiggle Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 The Rays at Extreme the other week were also rather tasty, pity they were in gay Mistubishi fitment
JDMSTI Posted August 25, 2007 Author Posted August 25, 2007 (edited) Yeah the TE 37's are very nice and I just did a search and I believe they are around 0.4lb's lighter than my wheels However how do the CP035's and the TE 37's compare in weight to the standard wheel (wrx or sti), is there a big difference? Cheers.. Edited August 25, 2007 by JDMSTI
