JDMSTI Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 Hi people, My 2002 JDM Sti is currently sitting on HKS coilovers, the trouble is I seem to be getting the same knock from the rear at low speeds as what you would get on standard shocks. I also notice that occasionally when creeping (up to traffic lights etc) that the rear of the car feels like it drops slightly as if the spring is settling. Has anyone had experience of HKS coilovers on a bugeye sti? I thought having coilovers would eliminate the knocking rear shock problem. Apologies for my complete lack of technical knowledge! I would ideally like the car to be checked over and set up properly and would welcome suggestions of where the best place to take the car would be......I am based in Aberdeen. Cheers, Dave
st3ph3n Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 http://www.falkland.co.uk/ - Falkland in Glenrothes get good reviews for geometery setup, so might be an idea to try them. Have you checked to see if your boot is rattling rather than the shocks knocking?

scoobykev Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 I also notice that occasionally when creeping (up to traffic lights etc) that the rear of the car feels like it drops slightly as if the spring is settling. I get this as well, only started after i fitted sti struts to my uk turbo. The geometry has been all set up and the car handles fine. I've had it checked out, no broken spring or leaking shocks ????
JDMSTI Posted August 24, 2007 Author Posted August 24, 2007 Def not anything moving in the boot etc as I have removed everything! Emailed Mark hopefully he will be able to see the car soon. Thanks for the information guys
st3ph3n Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 Not things rattling in the boot, but the bootlid itself rattling. Mine was.
