griffo Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 What do you guys think of atmospheric dump valves? Sound cool or Chavvy? Are they certain makes which are slightly more subtle?
granby Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Having had a VTA D/V on my car for about a year i changed back to the standard D/V as i got bored with the sound of it and it was a forge one which is one of the quieter D/V's about, also i noticed that the engine run smoother and wasn't jerky with the standard D/V
griffo Posted August 23, 2007 Author Posted August 23, 2007 Thanks for the reply Granby. Anyone else got any views on this? Was thinking of getting the forge but not sure now...

griffo Posted August 23, 2007 Author Posted August 23, 2007 Thats true!!! Might have to get one. Anyone fitted one on a classic??? Is it easy?
darryl_martin Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I've fitted one on a newage, no problems, pretty straight forward. What year is your car? I may be selling it?
darryl_martin Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 So iirc that means the dv is on the intercooler like the newer cars so I think it should fit? If you're interested drop me a pm
dazzlers82 Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 go for it get a nice hks one they are loud an yes easy to fit or you could by one like wedmonds that you can adjust volume from inside the car
monkip1 Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 I got a HKS ssqv, and god im impressed, no runing problems at all. Its so variable on vta noise with std purple insert. Nice psshht just aver 3k, mid way is more of a whooosh sound and a high pitch squeeelll/chokeing squerrel at high end revs. I love it!!!!!! Monki.
griffo Posted August 24, 2007 Author Posted August 24, 2007 (edited) Thanks for the replies guys. Does anyone know if a newage forge dump valve would fit on a 1999 classic? On sccobyworld there seems to be model for 99-00 and then 2001 onwards. I only ask as padtwo has one for sale. http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/produ...;products_id=99 Edited August 24, 2007 by Griffo

loonybin Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 (edited) As far as I know it will if you have the fixing straight onto the intercooler, and yes they are very easy to fit THE NEWAGE ONES DONT FIT THE 99 ONES AS ITS GOT A DIFFERENT MOUNTING PLATE. Edited August 27, 2007 by loonybin
wedmonds1 Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Get the http://www.gofastbits.com/index.php?parent...on=deceptor_pro I bought it as i wanted to be able to turn it off
luke_clifton Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 I got the Blitz one, nice and quiet at low rpm but loud high up. Get lots of pops and bangs with this one too. Plus you get 2 different trumpets so you can change the sound. There supposed to sound similar to that of a group A rally car, but i dunno about that.
