colzo Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Had a go at cleaning the engine bay the other day and the results are not bad. Firstly covered up the alternator then sprayed Gunk all over the engine and let it soak in for about 15mins. Then rinsed off with a strong stream of water (only using the pressure washer for the sticky green grease). Dried off with the engine running and then once cool protected with Swissol/Swissvax Motor Shine.
Double Zero Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Very clean looking Colzo [Y] Stevie ___________________ 01 WRX
colzo Posted July 5, 2007 Author Posted July 5, 2007 Like the battery clamp, where di you get that? Got the clamp from www.scoobyparts.com I prefered this one to the Prodrive one that you can get from Subaru, and its cheaper too! []
colzo Posted July 5, 2007 Author Posted July 5, 2007 Cheers for the comments guys [Y], it really wasn`t the hard to clean up. Pity I never took before pics as it was looking a bit grubby.
big den Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 WTF is all that sh1t all over the engine in the new STi I just picked up? Looks like someone with a heavy cold sneezed all over it!! [+o(] or Shrek melted [:S] Think I'll have to do the same operation as Colzo did Although dealer advises leaving it on to stop the aluminium parts oxidising!! [] Den
