glen_cadwallader Posted July 3, 2007 Author Posted July 3, 2007 Quote Quote Id stick with your scoob bud, if your gonna change again id got for a ver 5-6 sti properly modded up just to say 320bhp, you wont find a quicker car on the road, they are superb. Woah, never ever though of changing the scoob! Especially for an evo!! It's just good to get a point of view from someone who's had both, that doesn't happen very often thanks! next car, in quite a few years time will probably either be a 320bhp STi (possibly hawkeye) or just beef up my bugeye a bit more, but would prefer the better suspension set-up available on the STi! although may be tempted by a RB5, WR1 or RB320, but if I'm honest the leather seats in the RB320 are poor they just don't hold you in as well as other seats! [:|] The standard sport seats in my WRX have better side support. (But they dont look as good) Thank god for that mate, a subaru man to the core you are then RESPECT The best scooby seats ive seen were the P1 seats, but the sti ive got just now they are quite smart, im not that keen on the WR1 seats they didnt even emboss them with WR1 !!
glen_cadwallader Posted July 3, 2007 Author Posted July 3, 2007 Quote Some lovely cars mate.... RS6 vs M3? ok bud, RS6 450bhp M3 343bhp M3 is a out and out weapon, has to be a post July 03 one though with the revised crank bearing shells. The RS6's are all auto's as mine was, and this let the car down along with the weight. All the same, it handled fairly well, but it didnt eat corners like the M3. The M3 handles like a pure dream, just as youd imagine, and people say the 18" m3 rims give a better feel, complete toss the 19" are much better I had two E46 M3's and one had the small rims one had the large rims., The Rs6 would eat it off the line though, I dont think ive ever been thrown down the road as hard as the RS6 !! WR1 is supposed to be quicker to a ton but I doubt it very much, and after a ton the RS6 will pull to 155 in no time, mine was a saloon, which is better than an estate handling wise. If I had to choose between the Two, M3 hands down every time, it was a real treat to drive both cars but the M3 could make your hairs stand up on the back of your neck down through some nice roads, awesome car so madly advanced on the E36.
glen_cadwallader Posted July 3, 2007 Author Posted July 3, 2007 cullenmin, thanks bud, you'll laugh but I couldnt go on a run incase I got the WR1 stone chipped LOL Could take the sti I guess or maybe take the Wr1 and stay in front LOL Will keep an eye on the events section bud, maybe show face
glen_cadwallader Posted July 3, 2007 Author Posted July 3, 2007 Colzo, thanks buddy appreciated. Craigy, cheers mate, yeh I dont mind my daily runner getting dirty but my good cars stay in the garage at all times, never near car parks, nothing like that and if and when I can I get them detailed professionally and then I just maintain there good work

glen_cadwallader Posted July 3, 2007 Author Posted July 3, 2007 Quote How does the M3 compare with your WR1? Wet and dry. Good one mate, Youd be surprised, I was running Michelins on my M3, BMW have adapted the M3's traction control to allow the driver a bit of lee way in the wet, they have a pure beast of an engine, it revs like nothing else, only a CSL sounds better. Both cars 6 speed manuals, ah man this is a tough one, I reckon the WR1 would be gone in the rain, the M3 would be buggered, you just couldnt risk it. In the dry, Ive not been able to try it but Id expect just from my comparisons on certain stretches of private road, that then WR1 would have the M3 off the line upto 100mph, and then the M3 would be away, doubtful there would be much in it though, you know some of the figures released by subaru were not correct on the WR1 some cars had more torque than they were supposed to and some had much less bhp than 320, just so happens that my own personnal car at a rolling road day run by the WR1oc was the most powerful standard WR1 at 322bhp and 312ft/lbs torque, not bad, some cars had as little as 302bhp but to be fair they were all at varying states of being run in, mine had 7k on the clock and wasnt properly loose. Coming back to your question, The active front and rear diffs are good on the WR, its got phonomenal traction in and out of corners I dont think ive had a car that holds in the dry like the WR does. So heres my answer the M3 is a work of art its awesome beyond your expectations and its got CLASS and toys and still flies the WR1 its stunning to look at, it makes a fair enough noise, its rare, its got some nice touches, its a weapon. I think the Wr1 would win in the dry and the wet but not by much. This is the hardest choice ive ever had to make, Id take the WR1 and I have
glen_cadwallader Posted July 3, 2007 Author Posted July 3, 2007 Cheers Frank, I know im a boring fcker lol Ac!D Im pretty easy going bud and was quite keen to hear about there cars but my car was MINT if they had the money I know for sure they couldnt have found a better one, I just dont think they had the cash to buy it.

glen_cadwallader Posted July 3, 2007 Author Posted July 3, 2007 hmm, ok bud, well he will probably be back to subaru after a few months. If there is one bit of advice you could tell him from me And that is Make 100% sure that the M3 he is buying has had its running in service, this must be done ideally before 1500 miles but most definitley before 1800 miles. A car without that is worth atleast 2 grand less. And buy a July 03 car onwards if atall possible. Cars with Black leather and sat nav are much more saleable to the tune of 1500-2k. Id also advise a manual not an smg. If he needs any questions answered bud, tell him to give me a shout,.
